Mission & History

Mission

Educate and advocate for the land title professional, and foster integrity of its members.

History

The Nebraska Land Title Association was formed in 1903 and incorporated in 1966. The Association is guided by an elected Board of Directors and Officers. A committee structure allows Members to make a difference by volunteering their skills and talents. Committees include: Bylaws, Convention, Education, Legislature, Membership, Nominating, Title Person of the Year (TPOY) & Scholarship Awards Committee, Title Insurance Committee, Title Standards, Manual and Forms Committee, Past Presidents Council, and Technology Committee.

Advocacy

The purpose of NLTA’s Legislative Committee is to remain alert, organized and responsive to any legislation affecting the Land Title Industry in order to effectively respond to issues as they develop. The Committee and Board work closely with a lobbyist firm to identify, monitor, and proactively support or oppose legislative bills each session. The advocacy team works collaboratively with a number of other associations and agency groups to craft Nebraska legislation that is responsible, timely and effective. Association members also donate to the NLTA Political Action Committee (PAC), which separately raises and donates funds to political candidates and measures. Together they work to educate members and the public of the intricacies of the land title industry.
