NLTA is going "paperless" with this convention. Instead of a hard, bound copy of a notebook, you will have online access to all the session handouts about two weeks in advance of the event. These can be printed and brought to the convention in paper format or on your computer/tablet device. You will also be given the handouts at the convention on a flash drive. If you plan to use electronic devices, we suggest you fully charge them before the event.
*EDUCATION HOURS: The annual education program on September 19 has been submitted to the Nebraska Department of Insurance (NDOI) for 6 hours of Continuing Education (CE) credit for title insurance agents, to the Nebraska Abstracters Board of Examiners (ABE) for 3 hours of Board Approved "Professional Development Credits” (see Neb. Rev. Stat. 76-544), and to the Nebraska Bar Association (Bar) for up to 5 hours of Continuing Legal Education (CLE). In addition, 3 hours of Ethics CE for title agents has been requested from the NDOI and 2.5 hours of Professional Responsibility for attorneys from the Bar for the Ethics Program on September 20. To obtain any of these credit hours, you must attend the program in its entirety. There is no credit for partial attendance of any of the sessions.
CERTIFICATES OF COMPLETION: An attempt will be made to have your certificate of completion for the Abstracters’ Professional Development and for the Nebraska Bar Association’s CLE available at the end of the program IF you have provided all of the required information and have attended the entire session(s). If not available then, it will be mailed to you within ten days. If a registrant needs a certificate sooner than ten days after the program, please inform us as soon as possible. Effective July 16, 2012, the Nebraska Dept. of Insurance no longer requires Certificates of Completion; instead, NLTA will be required to electronically provide a roster of attendees to the NDOI.
ATTENDANCE/PROOF: In order to meet some of the requirements of proof of attendance, you will be asked to sign Attendance Sheets that will be passed around the room at random times during the session. We ask your cooperation in returning from breaks and lunches promptly and you must be present during the scheduled session times in order to earn continuing education credit.
CELL/MOBILE PHONES: Cell phone use will not be permitted in the meeting room. Your cooperation is expected and appreciated. If you leave the session to take a phone call, you may not earn continuing education credit for the session. PLEASE TURN YOUR PHONE OFF OR TO SILENT MODE.
REFUNDS: NLTA will refund your paid registration fee, minus a $25 processing fee, if your written notice of cancellation is received by September 13. After Sept. 13, there are no cash refunds.
