The PAC Committee is preparing for the convention. We will have a silent auction on Thursday, September 25, 2008 and we need items for the auction. Please let myself or a committee member know of items you would like to donate or bring them to the convention. The committee members are: Ellen Albrecht, Gregory Aschoff, Brian Beckner, Janice German, Timothy Gray, Patrick Kiely, Michael Malone, Rebecca McKittirck and Debra Stuchlik.

In an attempt to improve our relationship with the Legislature, the PAC Committee has been making contributions to candidates both in the primary and general elections. We have received requests and contributed to eight candidates in an amount totaling $2,800.00.

NLTA needs to improve its ability to get favorable legislative action on bills.  The Political Action Committee needs its member’s help.  When a member becomes aware of a candidate for the legislature, a questionnaire will be available online or from Annette Belitz Harmon, Executive Director, Nebraska Land Title Association, PO Box 85362, Lincoln, NE  68501, Executive@nelta.net.  The member will give the questionnaire to the candidate and offer to provide funds to the candidate from the PAC Committee.  The member or candidate can send the completed form to the Executive Director and then the PAC Committee will process it as a request for funds and after approval will provide the member with a check to go to the candidate’s campaign fund.  We would ask the member to deliver the funds personally to the candidate.
